San Diego, the second largest city in California and eighth largest in the United States, is just 20 miles south of The Villas at Rancho Santa Fe, providing a wonderfully accessible urban escape. Sharing a border with Tijuana, San Diego was incorporated in 1850, after the famous California Gold Rush led to huge population growth. More than 1.3 million people now call the city home.
